SIMStation Guide

This guide is designed to help faculty become comfortable with SIMStation quickly and confidently. It focuses on the core functions you'll use during scheduled simulation and debrief sessions — you don't need to know every feature to run a great session. Simulation Lab staff are available to provide hands-on training and support.

SIMStation is the platform used to operate, record, and review simulation activities. It manages live camera feeds, microphones, recording, media playback, and debriefing from a single system.

During a scheduled simulation session, faculty use SIMStation to:

  • Start and stop recording
  • Monitor live video from the simulation room
  • Monitor and adjust audio as needed
  • Play scenario-assigned media or audio
  • Mark key moments for debriefing
  • Control playback during debrief

All sessions are pre-scheduled and pre-configured by simulation staff. Cameras, microphones, scenarios, media, and room assignments are already in place. Faculty do not build or configure the system, but they do actively operate it during the session.

SIMStation is designed to support real-time facilitation while automatically synchronizing audio, video, and media for debriefing and review.
