Skills Labs
The Sim Lab has two dedicated Skills Labs (Rooms 220 & 230), where learners build the technical foundation needed for both acute and subacute care. In these spaces, students practice bedside skills—the essential hands-on abilities required at the patient’s side. This includes taking vital signs, performing physical assessments, providing hygiene and comfort care, and maintaining infection control, along with procedural skills like IV placement, catheterization, and wound care. Just as important, students practice patient communication and education, building confidence in both technical competence and compassionate care before applying them in live simulation scenarios. Each lab is set up for 8 beds, but if the need arises, capacity can be expanded to 16 beds per room, allowing flexibility for larger cohorts or special training events.
