How Simulation Is Used at CPH

Simulation is used across programs at CPH to support a variety of educational activities. These include skills practice, scenario-based learning, assessments, and interprofessional experiences.

Faculty may use simulation to:

  • Reinforce course content through applied learning

  • Provide structured skills practice

  • Assess clinical or professional competencies

  • Support communication and teamwork training

  • Prepare learners for clinical, field, or community placements

Simulation activities may be formative, focusing on feedback and improvement, or summative, such as OSCEs or competency evaluations. The purpose of each activity is defined in advance and communicated to learners.

Simulation sessions are scheduled and supported by Simulation Lab staff to ensure consistency, equipment readiness, and appropriate use of space.
