Teams in Instruction
Zoom is the preferred online course meeting platform at Temple University. However, Microsoft Teams has several features that can be utilized in instruction, to enhancing teaching and learning. Instructors can create dedicated Teams for each course, enabling streamlined communication, file sharing, and real-time collaboration between faculty and students.
Channels can be used to organize course materials, assignments, discussions, and group projects by topic or module. Teams supports live class meetings, office hours, and recorded lectures through its integrated video conferencing tools. With features like announcements, chat, and integrated Microsoft 365 apps, instructors can foster active engagement and provide centralized access to learning resources—all within a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment.
