Laptop Kiosks

Laptop Share is aTemple University’s self-service laptop loan program for loaning laptops through an automated kiosk. The programthat allows students to borrow laptops through automated kiosks located across campus. Students may check out a laptop from one kiosk and return it to another.any other participating location.

Location

The laptop kiosk in Paley Hall is located on the ground floor of Paley Hall, near the classrooms.

Borrowing Guidelines

  • Loan period: Up to 4 hours

  • Cost: No charge

  • Limit: One laptop per student at a time

  • Returns: Laptops can be returned to any kiosk on campus, including the Paley Hall kiosk. Ensure the laptop is fully inserted and wait for the return confirmation on the screen.

  • Late fee: $10 per hour, up to 24 hours. After 24 hours, the full replacement cost of the laptop will be charged to the borrower.

Usage Instructions

  • Laptops must connectbe connected to Temple’Temple's wireless network to log in. Off-campus and guest networks will not allow login access.

  • All personal data and changesactivity are automatically erased whenupon the laptop is restartedrestart or shut down.shutdown. Save filesyour work to cloud storage (such as OneDrive orOneDrive, Google Drive) or a USB drive.

  • UsersYou aremust responsible foraccept the careBorrower's andAgreement returnduring of the device. Damaged or unreturned laptops will incur charges.checkout.

  • TheYou borrower’sare agreementfinancially mustresponsible befor acceptedany atdamage, loss, or failure to return the kiosk during checkout.laptop.

Troubleshooting and Returns

  • If the laptop is not working:

    • Return it within 15 minutes and report the issue using the on-screen prompt.

    • If available, borrow another laptop from the kiosk.

  • If the kiosk is not functioning:

    • Visit another available kiosk location on campus to return the device.

    • For urgent assistance, contact the Help Desk.
