Battery Kiosks

Temple University has kiosks withprovides portable battery units units—called power banks—through foran chargingautomated kiosk system known as Battery Share. These devices can be borrowed free of charge and are designed to help you charge your laptop or mobile devices.devices Aswhile aon student, you can borrow a power bank and bring it to your classroom. After class, you can then return the power bank to the kiosk.  campus.

Location

The Battery Share kiosk is free, and the borrowing period is up to five hours, depending on when the building closes.

Note: Each power bank includes a standard three-prong outlet and USB ports, but does not include the cables that connect to your devices. So you make sure to please bring your own.

Borrowing Guidelines

  • PleaseLoan seeperiod: Up to 5 hours, or until the building closes (whichever comes first)

  • Cost: No charge

  • Limit: One power bank per student at a time

  • Returns: Return the power bank to any available kiosk on campus. Slide the device fully into the slot until it locks into place and wait for the confirmation message on screen.

  • Late fees: $10 per hour, up to 24 hours. After 24 hours, the full replacement cost of the power bank will be charged.

Power banks must be returned to a kiosk. They cannot be returned to staff members.


Device Features

Each power bank includes:

  • One standard three-prong outlet

  • Multiple USB ports

Charging cables are not included, so please bring your own device-compatible cable.


Usage Instructions

  • Power banks may be used within Paley Hall only. Do not take them to other buildings or off campus.

  • Accept the Borrower’s Agreement directly at the kiosk before checkout.

  • Return the unit to a kiosk before the due time to avoid fees.

  • If the device is not working properly, return it within 15 minutes and report the issue using the on-screen prompt.

  • Power bank availability may vary throughout the day based on demand.

  • You are financially responsible for loss, damage, or late returns.

  • Repeated failure to return equipment on time may result in holds on your University account or the loss of borrowing privileges.
