Laptop Kiosks

Laptop Share is Temple University’s self-service laptop loan program that allows students to borrow laptops through automated kiosks located across campus. Students may check out a laptop from one kiosk and return it to any other participating location.

Borrowing Guidelines

  • Loan period: Up to 4 hours

  • Cost: No charge

  • Limit: One laptop per student at a time

  • Returns: Laptops can be returned to any kiosk on campus, including the Paley Hall kiosk. Ensure the laptop is fully inserted and wait for the return confirmation on the screen.

  • Late fee: $10 per hour, up to 24 hours. After 24 hours, the full replacement cost of the laptop will be charged to the borrower.

Usage Instructions

  • Laptops must be connected to Temple's wireless network to log in. Off-campus and guest networks will not allow login access.

  • All personal data and activity are automatically erased upon restart or shutdown. Save your work to cloud storage (OneDrive, Google Drive) or a USB drive.

  • You must accept the Borrower's Agreement during checkout.

  • You are financially responsible for any damage, loss, or failure to return the laptop.

Troubleshooting and Returns

  • If the laptop is not working:

    • Return it within 15 minutes and report the issue using the on-screen prompt.

    • If available, borrow another laptop from the kiosk.

  • If the kiosk is not functioning:

    • Visit another available kiosk location on campus to return the device.

    • For urgent assistance, contact the Help Desk.
