Zeroing the Bed (Before Admitting a New Patient)

To ensure accurate weight readings, always zero the bed before placing a patient in it.

  1. Before the patient is in the bed, touch the Scale icon located at the bottom left of the footboard touchscreen.

  2. Add all pillows, linens, and equipment that will remain on the bed during the patient’s stay.

  3. On the touchscreen, select Zero.

  4. Wait for the bed to complete the zeroing process.

    • Do not touch or move the bed during this step.

  5. Once the bed is zeroed, place the patient in bed.

Weighing and Saving the Patient’s Weight

  1. After the patient is in bed, their weight will appear automatically on the footboard display.

  2. Select Save Weight to store the reading.

    • The bed can store up to 40 weights in its internal weight log.

  3. Any changes in the patient’s weight over time will be shown in the top-right corner of the touchscreen under the Weight menu.

Adding or Removing Equipment During a Patient Stay

If you add or remove items that affect the bed’s total weight (such as monitors or pumps), update the equipment record to maintain scale accuracy.

  1. Touch the Add Equip icon on the touchscreen.

  2. When prompted, select whether you are adding or removing equipment.

    • Adjust one item at a time for accurate tracking.

  3. The weight change will appear on the screen in real time.

  4. Select Save once the change is complete.

    • If you wish to clear the adjustment, select Reset to forget the change.

  5. Once saved, the updated equipment weight will appear in the Equipment icon on the right side of the screen.
